Tour a B&B in Provence online If you're traveling in a foreign country and planning to stay in a remote bed-and-breakfast, it's a good idea to take a look at the rooms before making a commitment. No problem at La Campagne Jeanne. You can look even before making the trip. Thanks to the Internet, it's possible to take a Web-site tour of the home of Martine and Daniel Alexandrian, which they opened to the public as a B&B in May 1998. One other thing they added that was very new for B&Bs in rural France: a site on the Internet. La Campagne Jeanne has cast a wide net, attracting visitors from South Africa, Australia and India. A room for two costs $40 to $60, including breakfast. For an extra $20 per person, you get dinner. Martine serves as chef, specializing in traditional dishes of Provence. A few of her favorites: Anchoiade, barigoule, grilled sweet pepper salad, stuffed sardines, pistou soup, Provencal tomatoes. Recipes are included on the Web site. "People who come looking for this kind of accommodation are looking for something different, and maybe they are different themselves," he said. "One French couple stayed two months. By the time they left, it was like losing old friends."
