United Bankruptcy Causes Fare Slashing

Fly between Boston and Chicago for $198 round-trip; connect Atlanta with LA for $346; wing over to London from New York for $298; or travel from San Fran to Beijing for $579. United needs to improve profitability if it expects to crawl out of Chapter 11, and cutting costs is only half the battle. The other half is filling the bankrupt bank accounts with cold hard cash, so for a limited time United is slashing 10 to 40 percent off every route in its network. Of course, even though these are special, lower fares for United, that doesn’t necessarily mean the airline’s offering the cheapest tickets out there on any given route. Be sure to shop around before contributing to United’s profitability party. At the very least, run a quick check at Hottest Vacations  to see if these general booking engines might throw up a cheaper fare on your dream itinerary.
