Titanic Display In Seattle
What was it like aboard the most
celebrated ship of the past century? At the show opening March 3 at Seattle's Pacific
Science Center, walk through re-created cabins, touch an iceberg, and see a section of
salvaged hull as well as more than 200 items recovered from the wreck of the Titanic.
"Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit" focuses on the science of conservation as
well as the experience of the doomed cruisers aboard the ocean liner once thought
unsinkable. In this context, the unbroken first-class crystal candy dish that survived on
the ocean bottom for 88 years, as well as the jewelry, diaries, and clothing that have
outlived their owners, evoke the human side of the tragedy in which 1,523 people died.
Admission to "Titanic: The Artifact Exhibit" is $15 for adults and $13
for ages 313 and seniors 65 and older. For more information, call +1 (206)
443-3619, or visit the Pacific
Science Center
