JETBLUE, the low-cost carrier with the wide leather seats (and delish
blue potato chips), is cutting the cost of travel between New York and New
Orleans down to a reasonable $79/each way. That’s for travel in January
and February only, and there’s a seven day advance purchase requirement. A
nice feature of JetBlue is that one-way flyers aren’t penalized—the cost
of the ticket is $79 (plus taxes and security fees) whether or not you buy a
round-trip. Tip: you’re most likely to get that $79 rate if you book a
midweek flight. Other cities that are on sale to or from NYC include:
Fort Lauderdale, Tampa or Orlando for $69 each way
West Palm Beach and Fort Myers for $79 each way
San Juan (Puerto Rico), Las Vegas, Seattle, Denver and Salt Lake City for
$99 each way
Long Beach and Oakland, California for $119 each way
